This post is created to respond to Ben A who sent me an email and discussed about Facebook ads spending on quiz.

I am going to tell you based on my own experience. If you checked vonvon.me or wittybunny.com Facebook page, you will notice that they are not using Facebook ads (thanks to Facebook update on transparency of Page Ads session). We are sure that they used a lot of Facebook ads in the past, but now they have audience based which can help their quiz go viral globally.
Once I approached one of my friends who have a Facebook page with over 3 million likes, I asked him to share my quiz on his page. Within an hour, I earned around 70 USD. Wow….. I wished I have that kind of page. This single post shared on his page will continue sending traffic to my site for a week. Overall earning from this single post is around 300 USD within a week. (But I couldn’t negotiate with him for profit sharing, so I didn’t have a chance to share other quiz).
One of my blog readers told me that he spent around 100 USD for his quiz and he earned back around only 40 USD within 5 days. (I don’t know which country he is targeting). But definitely he lost his investment on Ads.
Above image is my Ads spending Vs link click figures from Facebook Ads Manager. To explain in detail, I am spending 20 USD (10 USD each for same quiz on two separate page). I got around 15k users a day from this quiz. Earned around 90 USD. Cost per result is 0.002 which is really got. If the quiz is not attractive, it is just around 0.005.
One of my page has over 100k likes and another page has over 170k likes. Both are related with love, feeling topic and viral meme page. I created Facebook ads targeted to this audience “people who like your page and their friends”.
I tried split Ads targeted to the audience with audience selection and another Ads targeted to “people who like your page and their friends”. After end of the day, the second Ads performed better than the first Ads.
But if your Facebook page only have a few audience, targeting to the audience who like your page is not useful.
Ah…ok…I explained a lot. You might feel boring. What I would like to give you is “important is Facebook page likes”.
Here is the tips.
- Invest your resource (Money and time) on Facebook page. Create engaging Facebook post and boost this post to reach more people. If your post is really engaging, these people will like and follow your page. (Don’t promote Facebook page, it is useless)
- Create quizzes which is the same theme with your Facebook page. If your page is about love, create more quizzes about love. If your page is about funny things, create more quizzes related to funny.
- Then create Facebook ads to target to the audience who like your page and their friends.
- At the same time, keep investing on your Facebook pages. (create engaging FB posts, at least 6 posts per day).
- And one good thing is you will get some users through your website. (If you are using phpviralquiz or nametestapps, Facebook like icon near the play button is really attractive to get Facebook page audience. In my experience, nametestapps can get a lot of users from website. These people are really valuable because they are real quiz users.
I hope this tips will help you to make your quiz go viral and also save your Ads spending. You also need time to get reasonable number of Page likes.

But.. I also meant you’ll publish a post on “How to see correctly Facebook Ads”. I mean the settings tab. How to set up every option before you publish it.
Because I think I throw so much money away just because I don’t make good Facebook Ads. I know how to set a good audience, but that’s it.
I will try to write it. At the moment I am quite busy with my new project. Coz it will take time to make screenshot will detail write up.
